I am a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Colorado (Boulder). Originally from New Zealand, I defended my PhD dissertation, on the concept of truthlikeness, at the London School of Economics (University of London). I have held professorships at the University of Otago, the University of Canterbury and the University of Colorado. I have also been a visiting fellow at Helsinki University, the University of London, the Australian National University, the University of Sydney, Oxford University, the Institute for Futures Studies, and the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Studies.
My current research encompasses the nature and epistemology of value, formal axiology and formal epistemology. At the Institute I am working on the research project Hidden Convergence in Ethics with with Folke Tersman and Olle Risberg.
