Schools are considered efficient mating markets--that is, structured social settings in which partners meet--and feature prominently in explanations for patterns in partner choice, and for educational homogamy in particular. Yet there is limited systematic research into which school characteristics promote matching-making in these settings. We use Swedish register-based data on all Swedish high schools and universities, and their student bodies, to analyse the prevalence of partnership formation in school settings and the structural and contextual features which affect this.
