Abstract
Many think affirmative action is (un)justified. But does it really make sense to have views about affirmative action at this general level? After some reflections on the nature of affirmative action, what it means to justify it, and the key (un)justifying arguments, I take a critical look at two core objections: the reverse discrimination and the stigma objection. The talk draws on my forthcoming OUP book (March 2020).
